Born 1894 Holmes County, Mississippi
Elma Kyle was listed as the adopted daughter of Jesse and Sarah Broom in the 1900 and 1910 Holmes County census. The family lore is that her parents both died. She did not know she was adopted until she was 16. In trying to find her parents, I came across an Ethel Kyle, born 1890 in Holmes County, and adopted by Ben and Alfred Stigler. There is also a Lamar Kyle, born 1891 in Holmes County. I am creating this webpage in the hopes that someone will have information on any of these three children.
The Kyle surname was derived from the 1910 census record and from Elma who stated it was Kyle. It may not have been Kyle, but until I find out differently, I am starting my research on the premise that it was Kyle.
